Shearman Bowen and Co is expanding and invites applications for the position of practice manager to deal with the general day to day administration for the firm and to assist in the implementation of policies and new procedures to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
The firm has been an established for over 20 years and has acted in the many of the major cases during that period. The firm is noted for its commitment to its clients and for its expertise. It has been consistently ranked, along with many of its lawyers, in all the major legal directories and receives instructions from individuals and companies (both here and overseas) to advise on a variety of different matters.
The team, from partners to juniors, all are all supportive of each other and are all client focussed. We therefore look forward to receiving applications from individuals who wish to work and progress within that culture.
Responsibilities include:
1. Dealing with client queries;
2. Running the company diary;
3. Liaising with suppliers;
4. File opening and office procedures;
5. Management of content for firm website;
6. Management responsibilities delegated by the partners which include developing and implementing new policies.
The successful candidate will preferably have had experience working in a legal aid criminal defence practice although we will consider applications from all candidates with transferable skills. The successful candidate must possess good IT and organisational skills. Shearman Bowen’s staff are all committed and dedicated to their clients and to the firm. There is a culture and support across the firm and the successful candidate must therefore be able to work as part of a tight knit team.
Salary is negotiable for the successful candidate.
